The ministry has built its foundation on love, prayer and fellowship in Jesus Christ, which served as the sustaining power when faith was tested. ALM opened its doors to worshippers on Sabbath, October 4, 2008. Wednesday evening prayer meeting was added later and subsequently changed to Tuesday evenings to facilitate three situations. First, it facilitated hosting a community-based bible study class versus the traditional prayer meeting. Secondly, it provided the opportunity for those who wanted to attend prayer meeting service at First Seventh Day Adventist Church (FSDAC) to do so. Finally, it allowed Drake State Community and Technical College to offer GED classes to the community at the facility.
